Google content network accept third party ads

May 20, 2008

Atlast Google accepted to help third party advertisers deliver advertising on their content network which results in a great benefit for the publisher too.

The Google adsense official blogs says that Quality will remain their main aspect, which means only quality powerful proven vendors are certified for third-party ads.

Also one notable thing is that the third party ads will not have the text Ads by Google and the ads will open in new window.

These are the following parties supported by Google for third party ads

North America: Ad servers

North America: Rich media

North America: Research

Also their will be no/less chance of risk with the malware as all third-party ads are checked for malware when they’re initially entered into our system.

If you are using Google adsense in your blog/web site then here is what you have to do :

  1. Opt into image ads – Currently, third-party ads are only available in image or Flash, so they won’t appear in text-only ad units.
  2. Enable advertisers to target your AdSense channels – Most advertisers who use third-party ads are brand-conscious. They prefer to specify websites where their ads will appear in order to optimize the targeting and effectiveness of their campaigns.
  3. Opt into placement targeting – Placement targeting will allow advertisers to target their ads specifically to your site.

Note : You can place the ad code of third party now but Google cannot guarantee the specific date/time when they will appear on your website. You can check out their FAQ section for more help.
