Many people who owns a blog/website would have learnt many things about SEO,but only 10% of them implement in a right way.Here I have put up some basic Seo technique which everyone must know.Learning Seo is not the toughest task but implementing is a bit tough to lazy people like us !

1. Choosing domains names - Domains do play a role in SEO,many search engine tend to index the old domain blogs faster than the new one(The ranking too!).So try to get an old domain from any website like your main domain or get the list of expired domain names .But if you are aware of your potential in SEO or if you don’t find a good domain then prefer buying a new one.

2. Researching Keywords - Choosing keywords can be a confusing,you can use tools like Seo tools to find out the keyword.The keyword should not be specific like “Wordpress” instead it must be like “Wordpress tips” “Wordpress blogging tricks”or something like that.You can also use Digital Point Keyword tool for more ideas.

3. Deleting spammy Pinbacks/Trackbacks - In today’s blogging their are two people,one who writes original content and one who spams them.I saw one blog which allowed spam trackbacks .It is better to delete them as they can harm your Search engine rank and why do you keep them!!.

4. Don’t Over optimize - Don’t try to insert your main keyword in every post thinking that it will help for a better ranking.Absolutely not!.This will look like a spammy blog,use generic words.Generic ??

                     For example - If you have a blog about Making money then don’t use/abuse the word by using Making money in every article.Instead write like this “Make real money”,”Making real money online”,”Money making ideas“.I hope you got my point!

5. Quality backlinks - This is the toughest and time confusing part in the Seo world.To get backlinks people spam social network/websites which is a wrong approach.Just write guest posts and produce quality readable content with creative ideas to get a backlink.You can also submit to paid directories which have high page rank.Also commenting on a dofollow blog will get you some backlinks

6. Simple design - A good error free fast loading design can help you get more viewers which in turn boosts your ranking in the search engine.Dont use too many resources/plugins!

7. Use proper permalinks - Using permalinks for a post is a must for a blog.You can set custom permalinks like this /%category%/%postname%.html which will  help your blog post to be indexed easier and come to the top search engine result page.If you have a website then change the folder/file to proper keywords.   

                         Rockstar Tip - I have found that using Capital Letters in the permalinks(post title) is really useful than using the small letters,but it will spoil the looks of the blog post.

8. Adding Sitemap - Sitemap is meant for both readers and the search engine.You can use Xml Sitemap Generator for your site or use wordpress plugin for a xml sitemap or a true sitemap generator for your readers.

You don’t make progress by standing on the sidelines, whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas.
