The latest VLC media player has been released with an anticipated updates and features. The older version of VLC Media player didn’t support Windows Vista. But there was a work around which VLC media to work on Vista platform by going to advanced VLC settings and using  “OpenGL”, “DirectX“ or “Windows GDI”.

Though this worked quite well but with the later version of VLC Media player (above VLC player 0.8.6d), the issues of Windows vista and VLC media player are fixed. Vlc media player versions like 0.9.8a and VLC media player 1.0.0 final supports Windows Vista (Windows Vista Service Pack 2), Windows XP (Windows XP SP3) and Windows 7 OS.
