Similarly the attack on Wordpress sites are on a greater extent. Blogote.com was once attacked with a type of virus which embedded in the homepage, single.php and other template files and the blog used to load with a blank page. Luckily, I was able to sort out the malicious code from the theme template and removed them quickly. But to be on the safer side, you can use this Anti virus Plugin which I am using it right now.

@Raju – Plugin can be helpful as we may not know if the site is infected unless we keep an eye on the template.

As yes, I have de-activated the plugin after use and right now, Blogote.com is totally clean from any virus or malicious code :D

Thanks for passing by Raju!

That’s nice! But do we actually need a plugin for that? Even if we need it, we can activate and use it once a week/fortnight and deactivate it soon after!

@Ricky – Thanks for this Ricky. I’ve been using many wordpress plugin to maintain the blog security, most of the attack happens through the iframe malicious code which I’ll be writing up later.

The antivirus plugin for wordpress is helpful as it scans automatically, though I am not sure about the CPU resource it consumes.
