Download and Install GrooveShark App For iPhone, iPod touch and iPad

By Sidharth | Apple

Grooveshark app was among the many other apps one would love to have on their iOS device. And it’s no secret that the official Grooveshark app was pulled down from the iTunes Store, mainly due to the copyright infringement lawsuit from music companies.

After this debacle, Grooveshark decided to jump into the world of Cydia. So,even though the app is removed from the app store, iOS users who have jailbroken their device can still enjoy streaming the free music from the Grooveshark App. That’s right, if you have a jailbroken iPod touch, iPhone or iPad, then you can easily install the Grooveshark App.

How to Install GrooveShark App on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad

To install the app, you need Wi-Fi access. Or you can also download the Grooveshark deb file and install the app by transferring to your iOS device. But I’d prefer doing this via Wi-Fi as it is much easier.

So, to install Grooveshark App — tap the Cydia icon and go to Manage –> Sources –> Edit –> Add the BigBoss repository url (skip this if you have already added the Bigboss repo). Url to add: http://moreinfo.thebigboss.org

The next step is to search for the Grooveshark application. Simply tap on the search and look up for ‘Grooveshark’ as shown in the screenshot below. Confirm and install the application.

Quit from cydia once the process is complete, and open up the installed Grooveshark app and register an account.

It takes 10 seconds to sign-up for the trial access. Once done, you can stream popular music library, access favorite songs and switch to radio stations. The music playback screen looks fantastic to say the least! 😉

Note: This works with all the versions of iPhone and iPod touch (iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod touch 4G, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 2G, etc.). Although I haven’t tested this with the Apple iPad, but I do believe it should work flawlessly. Give it a try and let me know…
