Imagine Your iPhone 4 With Bumpers? Not Funny!

By Jim Roberts | Apple

It is quite as popular as the Apple iPhone 4 gadget because the posh device needs it. But on the question of importance, debates online and otherwise are going strong. The “Bumper” has probably surpassed demand of the most-needed apps of iPhone 4, and there’s even a logical notion that it is a product released the same time as the smartphone, and thus, additional income for Job’s company. This is because getting the Apple device also means you HAVE to get the bumper!

I have appreciated the very principle of the bumper, mind you. But the question lingers in my mind as well. How could they not have anticipated the wrong antenna placement?

Still, I bought the bumper for iPhone 4 because it’s the best means to have a clear signal. For those who are kinda lost as to its value, the bumper is the ultimate answer to signals suddenly disappearing, particularly when held by a leftie. The rubber-and-plastic combination is precisely built for the iPhone’s edges, with holes for easy-access to volume controls, dock connector, wake-up buttons, earphones and speakers, and the mute switch.

While it’s easy to slide around the iPhone, I am not as agreeable with its contribution to the appearance of the posh device. Somehow the bumper decimates the sophistication the iPhone has, and while it snugly fit the edges, it leaves the iPhone’s back bare. I call it a fashion faux pas ultimate! Calling the top honchos of Apple… do something about this! The bumper cheapens the phone!

Besides, who likes to shell out another £20+ for these bumpers? It felt like I had to pay for Apple’s misstep in the manufacturing? Had they given it for free with the device, the complaints would be less.

Someone at work told me the bumper does offer protection for the phone. Well, yeah… I know that! This essential accessory is something I bought right away, OK? And I am convinced it’s well-built and keeps the back part of the iPhone free from scratches and scruffs. Yeah, the bumper does all that. I was irked by that person from work, but he does have a good point.

Now, looking back, I’d just like more time to appreciate the positive aspects of the bumper, or my iPhone for that matter. In fact, I’m thinking of making another bumper purchase, with a different color. Then they told me the purchased item will arrive between two to three weeks.

Oh, bumpers! I mean bummer!
