Google webmasters tools is a Google product for bloggers and website owners for analyzing the keywords and diagnosing the website for better search engine results.

The latest addition to Google webmasters is the Top search queries data that provides visuals on the number of searches of the keyword along with the click through percentage in the search engine.

Analyzing traffic of your website is easier as you can check out the top keywords impression on search engine, number of people who actually clicked on your website from the result pages.

The top keywords data extracts the list of best performing keywords on your website, you can go advanced by checking the keyword position of each keyword, and analyze the data with different dates.

The ongoing discussion on what if a website is on the second position in the search engine is almost accurately predicted thanks to the Clickthrough details in the Google webmasters account. The lower the position, lesser is the clickthrough percentage.

Overall, along with Google analytics, the Google webmasters tools for advanced tracking of website traffic comes in as a nifty feature from Google. All the verified accounts on Webmasters tools have access to these features. Go ahead and explore your website data!

Few days ago I mentioned about the image quality loss in live writer and how live writer automatically blurs an image whenever you change the dimension. Hopefully, it will be fixed in the coming version. However, there are other plugins such as clipboard live which are pretty handy at times when you come across copy-paste issues.

Clipboard live writer plugin lets you paste images from Microsoft word, Visual studio page or from any html page to live writer with the same layout and format.

This plugin can be useful in many ways, suppose you want to copy those colorful html tables from a webpage (as creating tables in live writer isn’t really easy (at least I find it troublesome)) then you can copy all the elements into your clipboard and slap them onto the writer using ctrl+v. You can also adjust the settings and formatting..

Clipboard live can be downloaded directly by visiting the Live Gallery or by clicking here.

Windows Live writer is without a doubt the most used desktop blogging application. However, not everyone are accustomed to live writer because of those certain defects. The loss in image quality is one among the several drawbacks that needs to be dealt with.

A regular user of live writer would have known the uses of live writer which are not to be ignored. The image editing features are exceptional. No doubt. But, have you noticed that whenever you change the dimension of the image, the image loses it’s quality.. i.e, a normal image turns more into an blurry image quality.

For instance, here are two images that I’ve uploaded in this post. The first image is unaltered – I’ve captured it in such a way (regarding dimensions) that it fits in this content area. I haven’t re-sized the image. And the quality of image remains as that of the original.

The second image.. which is an replica of the first one seems to be blurred. Because I’ve resized the image, even though if I bring back it to the original dimension – the image quality won’t be retained. So, here is the image quality loss as you can see…

So how to fix the image loss issue?

By now you must have figured out the solution..YES, to upload images that fits in your blog content area. If you try to change the dimension of the images, then those blurry images are bound to be seen. In all seriousness, this fix is not at all the solution.. but with no other ways around, perhaps this is the only acceptable method you’ve to follow to avoid image quality loss on live writer!

Anyone from the live writers team reading this?

Recently blogote.com moved to VPS hosting (This VPS hosting was purchased from Knownhost) for providing a better browsing experience and so far the response of the VPS server has been striking enough with a good percentage of uptime.

It wouldn’t have been easier without the help of few people who helped during the process of migration, once again! And for those of you who are willing to go with VPS server I would advice you to research on dependable ‘Web hosting review’ websites. After research and recommendation I had to go with Knownhost VPS hosting.

Short Review of Knownhost

Though my review on Knownhost might not do justice as it has been just around a week since the transfer of blog to knownhost VPS. But I do see quality service and almost a near-to-100% up-time according to pingdom reports which makes the service promising enough.

I must admit that I’m sold to the knownhost support which is pretty amazing. Before getting into knownhost VPS hosting – I was precarious about the reliability as well as the handling issues that concerned me as I was completely new to VPS therefore I went with managed VPS hosting and added cpanel addon to the hosting package.

The overall cost for VPS hosting server was 40$ (VS2 plan) but thanks to coupon (hey, we have a discount coupon as well ) the overall price was cut down by 15% which is a lifetime hosting discount.

Knownhost Coupon

Luckily, this time I’ve used up a coupon code KH4LIFE that provided 50% discount off the first month and 15% discount for lifetime making the service affordable.

If this coupon expires then you can check the official page for new coupon codes that add discount to your knownhost vps plan (applicable for VS2, VS3, VS4 and VS5 plans). I hope this helps you to save some money to buy yourself a drink And if you are signing up to knownhost then you can use my referral link

Signup to Knownhost (My referral url) or if you don’t want to sign up under the referral link, feel free to sign up at knownhost.com, either way you have nothing to lose

This is a guest post from AffiliateTips.com – an affiliate marketing resource with affiliate programs in almost every niche, such as poker affiliate programs.

Everyday people are stressing through the morning traffic to get to a job where they are taking orders and doing what someone else tell them to do. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with this and it can for sure be gratifying completing tasks one been handed but we just want to tell you about a great alternative. With the Internet as easy accessible as it is, you have every possibility in the world of being your own boss. The answer lies within affiliate marketing.

Many of us work as affiliates to increase our monthly income and some even have this as their fulltime job – and they’re making more money than they ever have done before. However, with this said you of course have to be on top of your game if you wish to be a successful affiliate. We’ll help with some tips and tricks on how to get you started.

Start With Doing Research

Affiliate marketing is one of the most popular ways of making money online, and it has its reasons – there’s a ton of cash in this business. As with any new job you have to know what you’re doing when you’re starting out as an affiliate – start with doing research! Learn all you can from this trade and you’ll have a head start to your competitors.

There are several ways to get knowledge about this segment, such as affiliate books and forums. Many affiliates will be glad to help you out so ask them anything you might wonder. It’s always better to ask too much than not ask at all.

Find Your Niche

The affiliate business covers every single type of segment so you have to find your own niche, something where you are knowledgeable and that you feel passionate about. For example, if you’re interested in fashion then perhaps you should have a site or blog where you write about this topic.

Don’t forget that even if you love fashion you have to make sure that there’s a market for it, at least if you want to make money. If you come to the conclusion that there’s probably no money for you in this segment then you might want to reconsider and see if you can come up with something else.

Website vs Blog?

Now it’s time for you to create a place where people can read what you have to say about your selected niche. You can either go with a regular website or you can setup your own blog – both come with their advantages.

A Blog is perfect for you that don’t have the technical skills to setup a regular website and that at the same time wants to save money. Most blogs come cheap, or in many cases totally free. Remember to update your blog on a daily basis and to use keywords in your texts.

If you have the technical skills that it requires then you could setup a website that is devoted to the selected niche. Try to optimize it for the search engines, otherwise chances are that people won’t find the site. When you’ve filled your site with relevant content and the number of visitors starts increasing you should also notice an increased monthly income. Try it out – you have nothing to lose!

I always love stumbleupon website because of the quality of websites being stumbled everyday. The stumbleupon toolbar makes stumbling website very easy and once your website gets good stumbles then the article becomes viral. In short – You generates huge amount of traffic to your blog.

Social media Sites like Stumbleupon are the best way to get exposure to your precious killer articles. Though the traffic from them are not very targeted but they will generate good amount of pageviews and some might subscribe/stick to your blog and also stumble your future posts.

Stumbleupon is not only a community with thousands of online users but their are some sites which published popular stumbled post spreading your Killer content to many places which ends up giving you lot of backlinks and a great amount of exposure in the online community.

If you can come up with a decent post then you deserve traffic and stumbleupon is the right way to go. Therefore, here are some of my stumbleupon tips which will help your post go virally on Stumble upon community. I will be writing up about other ways to gain Thumps up to the post very soon. But for now these are some simple tips which you must follow:

Don’t always stumble your blog post

Stumbleupon has quality users and stumbling your own post would make no sense and mark you as a spammer, your account can be deleted or you may be restricted to Stumble your own post in the future. Have a SU toolbar installed in your browser and as you browse Internet Thumbs up any interesting post.

Stumble 5-10 random sites and then stumble your own post. Yes, you will also give some traffic to other sites, as well contribute to the community too.

Make friends and fans sharing thoughts

If someone stumbles your post, visit their profile. Add them as friends and message them frequently (don’t bug them! ). This way you have chances of getting your future posts a lot of good traffic. It is not necessary to message everyone, just do this once in a while and make friends who have similar interest as you.

Stumble videos and pictures

How many times have you stumbled a video? Just once in a while stumbling videos and photos will make other users to be interested in your stumbling process and they will definitely look you as a member with interesting stumbles.

Stumble Stumbler’s post

In case someone stumbles your post then visit there profile and thank them. Also you can stumble the stumbler’s profile which is another good way to gain exposure and build a bond with SU community. You can also Stumble some 5-6 favorites of the stumbler. This way you will also develop a good reputation in the community and expect your killer blog post to go virally.

The tips are endless, you have to just your common sense and work it out perfectly. This isn’t tough but it just takes some time. Don’t go stumbling 1000’s of pages everyday – Just make sure you have patience and just build up a good profile in front of the users and share similar interests.

Ah! One more thing you can do to get decent traffic is ask your blog reader to stumble the post, this does generate good amount of traffic

From past so many days I haven’t been blogging much due to the number of distractions on the Internet. I have written 6 posts in 10 days which is not a appreciable feat for a Tech blog. Firstly my keyboard damaged for 2-3 days (Yep, I have a new one now ) and I tried hard to write a post using on-screen-keyboard. Though I have no restriction of Internet or Pc access – Apart from the fact that I am hooked to the PC 24/7 I am not able to write some posts everyday in my holidays.

Gladly I found out the solution which kept me away from blogging on my cute Blogote. For this reason I am writing this post which will pump me up to write more quality posts everyday. I am sure there must be some bloggers who do these things everyday just like me!

1. Instant messaging – This is the biggest obstacle so far. I am using a multi protocol IM client called digsby. Digsby is a cool client which supports simultaneous login of Gmail, MSN, Yahoo! and Aim with support feature of various social networking sites like Myspace, Facebook and Microblogging sites like Twitter.

All this feature are in a single window application! I’m totally mad about this awesome chat interface! I am going to drawback from using this instant messaging service.

2. Watching Videos to pass the time – This passes my time and brings a unwanted smile on my face. I watch music videos, funny slapstick videos and weird freestyle dance. I watch the same video again and again and share them with friends. Benefit? Nothing at all. This is another huge time waster. I wish I had a slow Internet speed so that I was unable to watch videos due to lot of buffer time.

3. Kangaroo hoping stunt – After doing the above time wasting procedure, I hop sites ridiculously all over the Internet. There were days when I used to hop 400-500 new website everyday. But now I surf more than those. First I start hoping stumbleupon and digg then I go so far that the niche topic changes from Tech to irrelevant topics which are of no use.

4. Testing out different Software – While hoping to find new softwares or windows utilities, I check them out consistently, download them and uninstall once again to know that the software was eating my system resources. Some softwares are very big in size and totally unwanted. To clean them completely I download another software.. hehe

5. Joining unwanted sites/forums – During the Net surfing process I find out various sites and I bookmark them. I go to forums, try to find out some good utilities or read user’s experience on thoughts related to SEO, blogging or marketing. I hardly participate in starting a thread or posting replies. The same goes with blog/site hopping, I don’t comment to all the blog/site to gain some link effect. I do read all the posts of my readers who own a blog and comment only if I like the post or if it is really helpful!

6. No proper sleep – After finishing all the above activities. I sleep in between 1am-2am and before getting a nap, I publish some post (if possible). It takes me hardly 30-45 min to post. While sleeping thoughts like – I WISH I COULD HAVE POSTED SOME MORE ARTICLES TODAY..hits my lazy mind. The minimum amount of sleep will be really harmful for next day routine which accounts to laziness+.

Once again I got up at 7-8am and at 9am I sit on my computer and repeat the same activity as it’s an holiday for me. But today those junk activities will come to an slow end. A happy ending for sure, I will post 60-70 monthly posts from the next month with more concentration on this blog and the junk activities will be terminated slowly which I am determined about.

Now I am all set to blog better with more articles up everyday with some Tips and Tech stuffs. I hope everyone enjoys them.. Let me know things which keep you away from blogging ? I would be glad to know if there is someone who had the same time-table like me!

Friends, building a successful blog is not only about writing content. In the long run, if you want to achieve new feats in blogging, writing is not the only way for your blog success. Yes, I do believe content is a crucial part in blogging, obviously; however there are other things one need to focus on to build his blog.

So what is blog building?

Blog Building means setting your goals and achieving them.

In my opinion, set your goals on the traffic you’d like to achieve by the end of the month, or the end of the year; keep count of the number of subscribers; set a monthly revenue goal.

There are loads of other things one can do to build their blog. For me, I usually go with setting easier goals and as things move on positively, I raise the bar and do things for long-term benefits.

Blog building means building a community around you.

Interacting with your readers and the bloggers is a nice way to build a community. On internet, whether you are blogging or not, it is always good to network with like-minded people. The same goes with building a community for your blog — always network with the good folks.

Blog building means experimenting.

Once again, this depends on the amount of time you have to kill. Experimenting your blog by placing ad-networks like Adsense, or other ad-network, is an experiment. Not only that, you can change the theme, redefine your writing style and add new elements to your blog.

Thing is, the more you play with your blog, the more you learn and that serves as a great experiment and experience.

Blog building means branding yourself and your business

Not only choosing a good domain name is necessary, but also making your blog unique and different that the rest will benefit. Of course, we all think to make our blog unique, sometimes we fail, but that is what matters. You learn when you fall.

Blogging is about trying hard and pushing yourself hard enough to get recognized.

Blog building means generating traffic

One of the easiest way to get good amount of traffic is by submitting articles to social sites and marketing about your blog using your seo skill. Although delving into those paid directory or free directory is said to benefit, but remember, in the long run, these are the not-to-do things.

Blog building means writing good content

As I said, and as you know, content is not the only brick for building a blog, but we have to accept the fact: it plays a vital role in making your blog recognized. Simply put, content is the king; however relevant useful content is the king these days. There are tons of junk, unrelated articles on the Internet which fails to make the engage the readers.

I usually write good content when I am connected to a good, powerful system. As of now, my iMac does a great job in helping me write without any distraction whatsoever.
