Download Netflix For iPhone and iPod Touch From iTunes Store

August 27, 2010 |  by Jay  |  Apple Iphone

After lots of speculation the good news has finally arrived- both for Netflix lovers as well as owners of the iPhone and iPod Touch. Yes, you guessed it right, the Netflix app service is now available on both these devices! Watching streaming movies and your favorite TV shows on the go has just become a whole lot easier.

The fact that iPad supported Netflix right from the time the device was launched gave rise to discontentment as well as hope that other Apple devices would soon have the service too. And now you can download the Netflix app on your iPhone or iPod Touch and it works fine on both 3G plus Wi-Fi, despite AT&T’s reluctance to let some streaming apps work on 3G (Slingbox is a good example of that). Google’s New Gmail for the iPhone

August 26, 2010 |  by Jay  |  Apple Iphone

The lack of a native Gmail app on the iPhone has been a major source of irritation for most users. If it was not for the mobile version of Gmail supported by Safari, many users would have simply flipped! The good news is that Gmail is being heavily revamped for the iPhone.

The current mobile Gmail is pretty good but clearly the people at Google want to give you better. If you load it up today, you may notice that the look and feel has changed, with a dark blue tinge and rounded buttons being the first to catch your eye. More importantly the position of buttons has been changed and keys have even been deleted!  Continue reading…

The iTV: What Apple Must do for TV

August 24, 2010 |  by Rahul  |  Apple

More big rumours from the Apple-vine point to a major overhaul of the Apple TV. This may be so, due to the total lack of interest the tech company has been showing in this small-niche product.

Then again, it has been quoted over and over again from Apple that the Apple TV is merely a “hobby” at present. But with Google’s animosity ever-growing against Apple, and that company’s supposed plans to release a tablet of their own, Apple must act fast to really capitalize on this particular market. You Can Still Buy iPhone 4 Without Contract At AT&T Wireless Store

August 23, 2010 |  by Jay  |  Apple Iphone

Contrary to rumors that had surfaced online very recently, the Apple iPhone 4 is still available without the two-year service contract. The rumors stated that AT&T and Apple had mutually decided not to offer iPhone 4 without contract. Everything from the possible advent of the iPhone on Verizon to AT&T’s urge to make more money out of the iPhone 4 was blamed for this.

But these rumors should end here because both AT&T and Apple continue to offer the iPhone 4 without a two year contract and basic handset pricing. The only thing is that this deal is only available offline. If you buy the iPhone 4 in person from an AT&T Wireless store or from an Apple store, you can get the iPhone4 without the contract. iWork Vs. Microsoft Office:Mac 2011 – Let the Games Begin

August 22, 2010 |  by Rahul  |  Apple

Office for Mac 2011 will be releasing in just a few months’ time. It is a widely-anticipated upgrade to the industry-standard office suite for the Mac platform, and will be introducing, for the first time in this product, Outlook for Mac. This means that, finally, Apple computers can be taken “seriously” in the workplace, as they’re able to play nice with Microsoft Exchange servers.

But the real implication of this new Office version is certainly the fact that Apple’s iWork package – seen as a “competitor” of sorts to the Microsoft offering – is deeply threatened by Office 2011. Continue reading…

Apple iOS Commands Largest Mobile Ad Traffic Share

August 20, 2010 |  by Sid  |  Apple

Millennial Media’s latest Mobile Mix report shows that Apple devices receive the most ad requests among all mobile operating systems and the rest are lagging behind by some margin. While Android may be growing by leaps and bounds, advertising and traffic on Apple devices continue to outdo.

Millennial Media is the only independent ad network which comes out with these reports now that AdMob and Quattro Wireless don’t. Millennial has segmented the data based on the number of ads requested on its network. And Nielsen has ratified that the company has access to almost 80 percent of the US mobile audience, which is bettered only by Google or Apple research. Continue reading…

The iPhone Grooveshark App: Now Removed From the Appstore

August 19, 2010 |  by Jay  |  Apple

You may have just lost out a great mobile music app because Grooveshark is no longer available on the Apple Appstore. According to Apple this move was made due to a possible copyright infringement issue.

The reaction from the Grooveshark team has been one of disbelief and surprise. They have stated that Apple notified them that due to a Complaint received from the Universal Music Group of UK, the app has been yanked off the App Store.

They have also made it clear that they will try to get to the bottom of the issue as soon as possible and get the app available on the Store once again. This will help them address the inconvenience caused to their customers. Continue reading…

The Upcoming iPhone App Features from PayPal

August 17, 2010 |  by Jay  |  Apple Iphone

With e-commerce really big on mobile devices now, PayPal is gearing up for the next revolution in online transactions. The phenomenal growth registered by eBay (which owns PayPal) has also been due to the increase in the volume of transactions conducted from mobile devices. This is why PayPal is planning to add a number of new features and tweaks to its iPhone and Android apps.

The latest innovation is the Bump technology, which allows the transfer of money or the start of a transaction based entirely on ‘tapping’ two smartphones together (provided that they both have the app switched on). And PayPal assures that many more such interesting developments are in the pipeline. Continue reading…
