best_antivirusMuch like organic viruses found in the real world, computer viruses, which are malicious programs, are just as crafty and can greatly damage your computer system, starting from slowing it down considerably to making it crash. Protecting your computer from malicious attacks is therefore of vital importance and even more so if you use the Internet on a regular basis.

Although you may religiously follow the golden rule of not downloading anything from strange websites or opening unknown attachments, there is always a chance of viruses sneaking into your system without you being aware of it.

Also, with the increased incidence of flash memory drives being used as portable devices for storing and sharing data, the chances of a virus infection become even more pronounced. A virus present in your friend’s flash drive can easily be transferred to your computer when you plug it in. Thus there arises a need for antivirus software that will monitor your system on a regular basis, checking for virus attacks. Make sure fake antivirus softwares doesn’t exist on your machine.

Thanks for the interesting article with antivirus software reviews. I have tried few of them: Norton and Kaspersky in the last years. What I don't like in Norton is it's slow work. When I tried to scan my computer from viruses, I wasn't able to do something at that time because everything was working so slowly..My favorite one is Kaspersky. I am using it over the year and I didn't have any problems with it. It is fast, secure, it has a huge virus database, low price, in other words Kaspersky has everything that I have dreamed about. But it is only my own opinion. Thanks one more time for posting it here. I will be waiting for other great articles from you.

I’d just like to point out that every single PC brought to me for virus removal so fat this year has been “protected” by either Norton or McAfee, and they were up-to-date. I would recommend Avast or AVG instead (both of which are free for home users).

i personally use BitDefender Internet Security 2009. it has modules for everything: firewall, antispam, antiphishing, antirootkit and even IM encryption. and apart from other products on the market.. it has the Gamer mode option – whenever i play, i don’t get interrupted by pop ups. and i like this.
yet.. whatever solution you chose to use.. read before.
good luck and stay protected!

I would place Kaspersky Antivirus at first position and Eset after it.
