Perhaps a price war is always great for consumers. Just this week, Barnes & Noble cut back its Nook e-book reader to $199 and prompted Amazon to cut back on Kindle as well reducing it to $189.
It can be said that these price war works great for consumers as they are able to take advantage of great hardware and software at a more reasonable price to enable them to enjoy more of these technological gadgets.
Now, Electronic Arts on Tuesday launched a 48-hour applications sale. The sale sold 14 of the developer’s most popular titles for iPhone and iPod games for just 99 cents a pop, this sale ended Wednesday and was appreciated by many consumers. Now, not to be outdone, Gameloft announced its’ own 99 cent sale for 7 of its top titles for the iPhone.
The games on sale include the following titles:
- N.O.V.A.: Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance
- Gangstar: West Coast Hustle
- Brother’s In Arms 2 : Global Front
- GT Racing: Motor Academy
- Shrek Kart
- Assassin’s Creed – Altair’s Chronicles
Keep in mind that these titles go up usually for $4.99 so a $4.00 price cut is definitely a big deal. And you should also remember that these titles are some of the most popular games for Gameloft. So they are not any other crappy games.
Imagine for the usual $4.99 single title, you can get 5 titles with some spare change to boot. So if you took advantage of EA games sale but haven’t gotten your fill of the craze as of yet, then perhaps you’d like to take advantage of these great offers from Gameloft. Yes, imagine again — N.O.V.A. for 99 cents? That is too good of an opportunity to pass up and your kids will surely love Shrek Kart.
These Gameloft titles are available on sale only for a limited time, so you might want to grab them up before they’re gone.
In the meantime perhaps just a note to developers like Gameloft, Electronic Arts and all the others who plan to join these price wars, how about getting some sale for your games’ iPad versions as well? Now, that will be a real treat!
