Steve Ballmer Announcing the new Windows 8 OS

Are you excited about Windows 8? Microsoft will finally launch Windows 8 today, which is the company’s latest operating system for PCs and tablet computers. You can follow the live streaming links given below to watch the whole event right from the comfort of your home.

Here’s the link: Launch of Windows 8 Live

Note: Windows 8 will not be available right now. The OS will be in the stores starting tomorrow morning (October 26th), but the company is hosting a launch party in the New York City today because, you know, that’s how they roll.

Microsoft Windows 8 launch is nothing like Apple’s. Here, we have very little surprises and lots of announcement. Microsoft will also start shipping its Surface tablets starting October 26th — even these slates will be shipped with Windows 8, as you probably know.

If the above live streaming video link didn’t work for you, here’s an alternate link you might want to check out. Unfortunately, for those who have slow Internet connection, your only option is to follow live blogs covering this launch.

Alternate solution: Right-click and copy this link, then launch any media player from your computer and watch the video live on your desktop.

Microsoft has spent billions of dollars in marketing its new OS and tablet computer (check out the ads 1, 2). As pointed out by Steve Ballmer, Microsoft is ‘betting the company’ on Windows 8, with the hopes that users will upgrade or switch to this magical operating system.

What do you think of Windows 8? Will you upgrade all your PCs to this OS? Let us know through your comments below.
