What does it take to become a popular celebrity in New York? Movies, music, and lots of work? No.
Put your best clothes on, bring photographers to take your pictures, and stage a couple of bodyguards around you, and guess what? You are now considered a celebrity.
Brett Cohen is a 21-year-old dude who always wanted to be a “fake celebrity” and finally decided to conduct his crazy idea to prank thousands of people walking the streets of Times Square in New York city.
He wanted to trick these people into believing he was a famous celebrity.
Brett arranged fake photographers, bodyguards, and dressed himself neatly. What followed next was really startling. As more and more people started noticing Brett, they wanted to talk to him, take pictures with him, and probably befriend him.
Over 300 people took pictures with Brett, and many of them uploaded it on Facebook and Twitter, some of them showing off while others asking if anyone knew this celebrity. One of his admirer said, “he got a great future in the movie business.” Nonetheless, Brett pulled off a successful celebrity prank.
