Whatta year this has been! 2009 has gone by in a flash and awaiting now, is the year 2010, with great hopes and success plans awaiting to be achieved – I wish all the dear readers an prosperous and happy 2010 year!

I have been blogging no less than crap less-useful posts these days. The reason is that I’ve been busy with other offline issues and my education life, which I’ll promise to stabilize in 2010 and I really hope to make things work out as intended.

Coming to the point, this blog, has seen an eventful journey and all my efforts are nothing compared to your extensive support which is worth applauding.. I wish each and every one of the visitor and readers an super-duper year with prosperity and happiness flowing from every corner of the part into your life! Last note: New year 2010

As you might know, this blog is man-handled all by myself – I plan to blog frequently and as much as I can during this 2010 year. I will try to keep up with the quality of the content and come up with fresh ideas, if you would like to suggest anything to me then please share them with me. I would be delighted to have feedbacks and I will work on improving myself in the best possible ways I can.

Also, I am deeply sorry for my non-responsive behavior for the emails, the questions and comments that has been knocking on into my inbox. Blame the rough schedules! Yeah! It has been quite some time since we made any announcement on our blog statistics. April was kind of an ordinary ongoing month with less interaction and blog posts as it was difficult for me to keep up with offline and online world. Nonetheless, I achieved in writing a few useful posts and managed to have a consistent traffic which was a bit low compared to the previous month though.

The process of writing these blog statistics posts is to motivate myself, aware the readers about the growth of the blog and to achieve the goals I had set for 2009 year. Back to the statistics, the traffic in the initial stage of the month was quite consistent but somehow it went on decreasing in the mid month but right now it seems to be back on the track. Also there was a 100% uptime according a web monitoring service, so grid hosting service of Media temple for blogote is worth the money.

Once again there was a no-investment promotion but I am happy to have 10k direct visitors which shows that YOU LOVE reading blogote posts Traffic from the search engine remained consistent as expected. Also I’ve been busy with the college schedules and thinking to study for my upcoming examination that is about to begin in the month of June-July. But I can assure you the blog will remain active and will try to bring in some useful articles and resources.

And it would’ve been impossible to achieve the traffic, earnings without you people. I should thank everyone personally for visiting the blog and making it a success for me. Well, we have a long way to go

It has been a few days of inactivity on blogote.com and blaming the hosting process is the last thing we were looking for. If you are a regular visitor here then you must have noticed the blog was very slow with internal server error for couple of hours. Surprisingly without a second thought we purchased the hosting and decided to move on the brand new server of Media Temple!

I wasn’t able to login to admin panel and the site was very slow, sometimes inaccessible too and maybe this was because of apache that needed to be restarted! Been on shared server I wanted to go with VPS as that would benefit a lot but thanks to Amit bhawani for recommending Media temple service which looks quite promising and strong enough to handle any random traffic spikes!

It would have been tough to move to a different environment without the help of online bloggers such as Amit and Keith. Keith Dsouza who hosted this blog for 6 months on dreamhost fixed the Internal server error and Amit bhawani did the complete blog migration . Let me ping them

By the way I committed a blunder by deleting misplacing the February month images somewhere and cannot find them in the FTP, so all the images in the feb posts will not be visible. I am still trying to find it as soon as possible! And if you are feeling the change or want to leave your opinion/suggestions on anything then do leave your comments!

This article not only signifies the goal of this blog but also some of my offline goals which I would like to mention through this post. And hopefully this will be the last post for this year or may be not! Anyway the new year 2009 will not have lot of posts as you thought because of the Examination stress and the feeling of being lazy (Procrastinating) has got over me.

As most of you know, I am 18 and studying my Engineering Course which is really stressful. I cannot afford to post any post on a regular basis for the time being as I want to make sure that I am fully prepared for this exam — not due to the fact that I am a wannabe topper in the class but I will let you know the reason behind this once I score good marks! So moving on, I would make sure the goals put up here are not just achieved but are achieved handsomely as well!

Stop Procrastinating – The Biggest enemy

From the beginning of 2008, I have developed a habit of procrastination — being lazy and delaying work in every possible way — and the promises I make, or the deadline I have set, never goes in my favor because of my procrastinating habit; so 2009 will be definitely a year where I will dust of the laziness and be active, not only on the web, but also elsewhere in my life.

Study + Blog = Devote Time

When I first introduced to the universe of Internet, I had no clue that I will be starting my own website. Now, here I am: new blog that rakes in enough money to pay off the bills. However, studying and blogging is what I plan to do, because I can’t heavily rely on online income.

Reach 20,000 Page views Per day

A relative growth at 1000 page views per month would make 20000 pageviews more possible to achieve. To maintain a steady growth in traffic, posting frequency should be increased from one per day to 2-3, or better yet, 15 post per week sounds plausible. As soon as I am done with the exams, I will stick to this regular posting frequency.

1500 Subscribers at the end of 2009

Oh, honestly, I am not concerned with the subscribers’ rate, but still I’d prefer to reach 1500 subscribers by the 2009 year end. That is like 3 subscriber’s per day… not hard huh?

Make Huge money per month

The income generated from past many years keep on fluctuating most of the time, so 2009 will be the year where I will be taking the lead to generate steady income. I WILL reach 7 figure yearly income in rupees, which is about 25000 US dollars … And yea, I will also donate 200+ $ to a charity/organization which helps old people!

Get featured on Local Newspaper

I know this sounds crazy but I always wanted to get featured on a local newspaper not for being a criminal but for being a young blogger in Bangalore who is able to churne out decent amount of money from his blog. This may seem difficult but if I make good money and have proof of received check from ad networks then I am sure any local newspaper will feature me in some corner of the paper one day!

Just found out that I haven’t blogged about the monthly wrap up posts for few months (Infact we did just one post ) So I thought to give readers a insight on our traffic which will bring us some respect in the blogosphere!

After 5 months of steady slow (sounds contradictory? ) blogging and posting less than 200 posts in this long period surely makes you think that I am busy right ? Well NO,I had all the time to blog in my Summer holidays but just wasted that precious time watching movies!

Moving on with the blog stats of september,we almost covered 100000 pageviews for this month!

The steady traffic started to flow due to the new design created by benjacob designer! (Ofcourse due to all the readers,commenters,well wishers and competitors )

Blogote was transferred to a local reputated webshoting in the initial stage of september (which was really disappointing) and we were kicked off in the mid september month by the new host with a no refund! Now we are hosted on Dreamhost for free Yeah,dreamhost didn’t sponsor us but Keith Dsouza did! Thanks a lot for the support buddy.

As usual Search engine traffic was the main source for the blog which lead to consistent traffic even though posting frequency was less.I am sure this fresh month will see a little rise in traffic as I will try to increase the posting frequency and get those super wishes from all the people!!

After two months of blog posting and waiting anxiously for Google pagerank update,Finally blogote got some value! Obviously we started with a zero pagerank but we all know things keep changing.As a fact,We earned ourselves a Pagerank 2 which brings a big smile on our face!

Most of the webmasters consider Google pagerank to have no value but when it comes to private adveritsement (head over to forums) people sell ads for $$ which mainly depends on the pagerank.For example a pagerank 4 blog can expect 10$-20$ per ad banner placed on there blog for one month.

Google toolbar is updated once in 3 months.Though pagerank 2 seems to be nothing for other Big bloggers but we are happy to have atleast something to brag about…

Finally a great June month ended, there was a lot of unexpected traffic which is just because of the pillar articles that got a good response from social sites. Pillar articles are that which make your blog stand out, these are the articles which give the maximum page views and traffic to your blog. June month had a couple of popular pillar articles, some of them are:

• Forcing Google analytics to show real time data
• Firefox 3 Hack : Get old style address bar
• Creating beautifully designed wordpress themes without programming knowledge

I had mentioned in my Goals page to get 10000 page views for the month of June but less did I knew that I would be making twice the pageviews in the first month… Here are the traffic stats for the month of June:

21,465 – Page views

Overall their were 39 posts and the search engine traffic of 2000+ is a noticeable thing considering the blog age but as this blog got a long journey to make I have to make sure the search engine traffic increases each and every month. WISH ME LUCK
