Miranda Cult Pack is an extended version of the Miranda Client. Miranda is a well known chat client for Windows system that has effective addons and plugin support. You can customize it’s skin by downloading plugin such as contact list or change icons using the settings option in Miranda.

But with Miranda Cult, you will have pre installed collection of Miranda skins, icons. So all you need is to download and use it instantly or switch the themes. It is already customized, fast as Miranda and comes with 7 custom skins.

Recently I found out few Miranda skins and themes that are available at deviant art website. Though the default theme loads much faster but there are ways to change the icons, skins with few tweaks in Miranda IM settings.

And I found out there was NO SKINS folder in the program files of Miranda (I had to create one), I tried lots of methods and came up with this trick that will be help you in applying the skins or custom themes on Miranda.

Install Miranda Skins

It took me a lot of hard time to figure out the installation process until I figured out the contact list plugin. This plugin will change the skin of Miranda and allows the option to browse custom skins or themes. Download contact list and unzip it into plugins folder of Miranda which is usually found in your C drive program files.

Again go to C program files and create a folder called “Skins” (without the quotes). So you now have an empty folder located here

Now open Miranda client and from the menu – navigate to options which opens up a dialog box as shown above. Click on the contact list skin that displays Miranda skin on default profiles. Assuming you have downloaded these Miranda skins and extracted them into Skins folder – go to browse from contact list skin -> choose the skin .msf file extension and apply it.

Changing Icons on Miranda

Move over to options, customize and then to click on the icons sub section where you will be able to load fresh set of icons or change icons on your Miranda client. You can also download icons from the official site and integrate them with Miranda. I hope this tutorial was useful, if you are unable to apply theme or have any issues with this then let me know.

Note: The above download links are of Rainlendar lite version. Rainlendar comes with pro and lite version, though I would recommend the lite version as it is free and maybe it will be enough to carry out calendar event tasks on your desktop.

After installation of Firefox theme addon which resembles Mac OS skin the Mozilla browser crashed whenever I restarted it.Firefox used to crash due to that incompatible addon,so I made a fresh installation of firefox 3.0.3 as I was pondering over the compatibility issue of the theme addon with Firefox.But it didn’t work for me and as usual firefox was crashed whenever I tried to reopen it.

However I found a simple solution to uninstall those buggy addons and themes by opening your firefox in safe mode and uninstalling the buggy addons-extension.To open your firefox browser in safe mode,just go to run from windows start menu and input this firefox -safe-mode to get the firefox safe mode running.

You will get a small window box asking about disabling addons and other features in the safe mode.Continue with the existing options.After Firefox is running,you will not be able to use installed addons in the safe mode.But as we are using the safe mode to uninstall those addons/extensions,head over to tools –> Add-ons and then find out the buggy extension or themes.Click on that theme/addon and uninstall it!

Now you have uninstalled the addon which was causing firefox crashes! Open Firefox in normal mode and it should work fine
