Hit the play button on any of the YouTube video and the video will instantly start buffering. Now load yet another YouTube video and this clip will buffer too, but the loading speed will now be cut in half as the first video is already buffering.

Let’s assume that the first video is one hour long while the second one is just 5 minutes long. Because the Internet speed is divided equally between two videos, you have to wait for some time till the buffering of these videos is completed.

A better way out of this messy situation is to stop the first video from buffering and proceed to watch the other one. To stop a video from buffering any further, this is all you have to do:

Right-click on the video > Select Stop download.

Note: Hitting the pause button will still buffer the video. By using Stop download, you are permanently stopping the video from buffering any further.

Another solution is to close the page of the first video — that’s silly, I know!

Hangouts on Air is Google’s new feature that enables you to broadcast your live video chat on YouTube. Previously Google Plus users had the ability to share Youtube videos on the hangout but now they can also broadcast live hangouts on YouTube.

After the end of your hangout, the video will be automatically uploaded to your YouTube account. The whole hangout video will also be available on your Google+ post.

Everyone can watch your live video hangouts, but this is possible only if you tick the option “Enable Hangouts On Air.” You can, of course, keep the hangout private.

Just start a hangout as usual; invite people on your Google Plus account to join the video hangout, but you have to make sure to Enable Hangouts On Air before you hit the Hang out button.

Only the host who starts the hangout will be able to invite people to join the live hangout event, although anyone can watch the live or recorded version on YouTube at a later point of time.

Whenever you are playing a YouTube video on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, you will notice that the app doesn’t run in the background. Sure you can send YouTube app to the background but the currently playing video will be paused.

This means there’s no music for you to listen.

Here is a simple trick that I have been using for a while to listen YouTube songs in the background on my iPhone 4S. You can use this trick on any iOS devices.

Step 1: Launch the YouTube app. Now open any video of your choice.

Step 2: You need to go to your iPhone’s homescreen. Double-tap the home button to bring the multitasking bar. Switch to any app — Safari, in this case — then move to homescreen.

Step 3: Lock the iPhone by pressing the sleep button. There will be no YouTube music running in the background, obviously.

Step 4: Double-tap the home button; this will bring the iTunes Music Player. Click Play to listen to the song that was buffering in the YouTube app.

Before you go berserk and blame YouTube for not playing high quality videos over 3G connection, here is the tip just for you. This simple tip will quash your frustration with YouTube and also put an end to your low-quality videos saga.

When you are watching videos over 3G network, YouTube app automatically reduces the quality of the video to save your precious bandwidth. So how do you bypass this restriction and watch HQ videos on your iPhone?

Consider a situation where you are able to access YouTube website but not the videos. When you land on the video page, you are welcomed with a black screen, a loading ball, or the page doesn’t load at all.

In this article we’ll quickly skim through the issues that you may come across, and find out how to fix the problem that you may have otherwise missed.

When YouTube Videos Doesn’t Work

#1. When you watch videos in HD mode, they fail to buffer. The video screen goes black with a loading ball spinning endlessly.

- Restart your browser. Some plugins, usually the outdated ones, crashes when you are browsing for more than a few hours. Give a quick restart, open the video page to know if the video loads fine.

- Switch to a different browser. If you’re using Safari, switch to Firefox, or any of your favorite browser. Relaunch the video to see if the problem still persists.

- Update your browser. Whether you are using Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, or any other browser, it’s always recommended to not only keep your browser up-to-date but also addons and plugins should be regularly updated.

Mac users have raised their voices against the new sleek YouTube player. Apparently, when a YouTube video is loaded, Mac OS X users are able to hear only the audio part with a black video screen displaying nothing, leaving out the users on the ragged edge of frustration. Update: Audio works fine.

The issue has hindered users from watching YouTube videos on their Safari browser. Also, users have complained on the Google forum that YouTube video doesn’t work on the Youtube site, which means: when the same video is embedded on websites and Facebook, they seem to work just fine.

Among the innumerable complaints dropped on the forum, majority of the users pointed out that the video rendering issue was seen while they were using the Safari browser on their Mac OS X. The good news is that the unprecedented issue of not being able to watch YouTube videos is worked upon.

The issue was later noted by the Google employee, Diego, who comes up with these temporary workaround:

— Try closing your browser and reload the video. Then right-click on the video player –> click on the Settings -> Disable Hardware Acceleration and refresh your internet Browser.

— Right click the Flash object and click on settings. In the first tab of the window thing that appears, uncheck the “Enable hardware acceleration” box.  Now if you go back to a video page, the player will work just fine. There are a few side effects though; software rendering means that the CPU will be doing the job of resizing the video, which makes full screen video look pixellated instead of smooth.
