Droid X Versus iPhone 4: Droid X Payback time with No Jacket Required Ad!

The game of one-upmanship between Motorola and Apple just got more intense than ever. This, thanks to the latest Motorola advertisement proclaiming that the Droid X is able to make calls without a ‘bulky phone jacket’- a direct dig at Apple’s much publicized solution for the iPhone 4 ‘Antennagate’.

When the problems with the iPhone 4 antenna had first come to light, it was Motorola which made a cheeky ad claiming that the Droid X can be held ‘any way you like’ without causing a drop in the signal. Droid X Hotspot WiFi: A Balance Sheet

It hasn’t yet been two weeks since the launch of the Motorola Droid X and the frenzy over the phone is at an all new level. Of course with amazing features such as WiFi hotspot, this had to happen. And this remarkable integration in a smart phone, is something which even the iPhone 4 lacks!

For those who are not in the know, the hotspot WiFi feature of the Motorola Droid X allows you set up a wireless internet hotspot, similar to the ones you use at malls and cafes. Smartphones Hit Back Apple on Signal issue!

Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs during a press conference last week that aimed to tackle the issue about the iPhone 4 antenna and signal problems that has been plaguing many iPhone users made claims that it wasn’t only the iPhone 4 that were having signal problems but other smartphones as well like RIM (Blackberry), HTC and even Samsung.

Apple supported this claim by providing test results that showed the Samsung Omnia II, HTC Droid Eris and the Blackberry Bold 9700 all losing their signals when held in a particular way.  Now, HTC, Samsung & RIM hit back on this claims by Apple. Continue reading…
