The icon of hope for ViewSonic to flourish in the tablet market: ViewPad 100, was put to display at IFA in Berlin. And with bunch of ViewSonic products coming up along with ViewPad series of tablets– ViewPad 100 is the most talked about because it can dual boot Android OS and Windows 7 home edition.
However, buyers of this tablet will miss Android 2.2 Froyo as ViewPad 100 supports Android 1.6. So, that’s a real dampener. On a positive note, there are couple of features of this tablet, apart from dual booting OS, that are admirable.
Firstly, ViewPad 100 sports a 10 inch capacitive LED touchscreen (1024×600 resolution). And then, under the hood, the Intel Atom N455 1.66GHz processor, 16GB SSD and 1GB DDR3 RAM is decent enough to carry out our computing needs.
Also, ViewPad 100 has two USB ports, supports Bluetooth, has a front-facing camera (1.3MP), Wi-Fi, assisted-GPS, and an accelerometer. ViewPad 100 could have placed itself in an strong position, only if it came with the support of Android OS latest version. Nonetheless, it’d be interesting to see reactions upon its public announcement that is likely to happen by the end of October.
Price of the ViewPad 100 in the Market?
Although no official pricing hasn’t been announced by ViewSonic, but the ViewPad 100 tablet is said to come at the price of 549 euros — that’s just over 700 USD in the United Stated.
