Microsoft Word will predict what your next word will be

Microsoft is expanding Word with artificial intelligence (AI). This allows the word processing program to predict which words will follow based on what a user has previously typed.

The predicted text is shown in gray and the suggestion can be accepted by pressing the tab key. You can also refuse.

The AI continues to learn based on user behavior. The predictions should better reflect the user’s writing style over time. If you don’t like the predictions, you can also disable the function.

According to Microsoft, the privacy of the user is well protected. Employees of the company do not have access to the data used to train the algorithm. Moreover, the data would not come outside of their company for business users.

The forecasts are currently only available in English. Earlier, Microsoft already added the predictions to the Outlook e-mail program. Competitor Google Docs has had such predictions for some time.
