Cool Things You Didn’t Know You Could Do with MS Paint

Introduced in 1992, Microsoft Paint or MS Paint has evolved throughout the years. Even though it is not the tool of choice for professional photo manipulation, it comes with features integrated with premium photo manipulation software.

Unfortunately, MS Paint is only for Windows users, and while there is no official Paint for Mac in existence, there are excellent alternatives. You can learn all about them here https://setapp.com/how-to/paint-for-mac

Now, let’s turn our attention to the most incredible things you didn’t know you could do on MS Paint

  • Gradient color effects

Launch the MS Paint application and draw a diagonal line in the center of the picture using the straight-line shape from the toolbar to create gradient color effects. Then, choose Fill Color from the top menu to fill one side of the diagonal with your selected color.

After that, you have to fill the other side with another color of your choice, or you can keep it white. Click the Resize option and when a pop-up window appears, replace the horizontal below on the Resize tap with 1. From there, the Maintain Aspect Ratio option must be unchecked and then click on OK.

The steps can be repeated as many times as you want, but ensure to replace the horizontal value to five hundred. Also, you have to uncheck the option of Maintain Aspect Ratio each time. That’s how you’ll find your gradient effect.
