Enable or disable the administrator account on the Windows 10 login screen

If you are viewing the login or welcome screen, the administrator account is not an option by default in Microsoft Windows 10. You can enable this feature by following the steps below.

Note: These steps are not supported on the home version of Windows 10.

Method 1-via command

” Start a” select , ” CMD ” Enter you.

” Command prompt a” right-click ” Run as administrator and select” .

When prompted, enter the user name and password that grants administrator privileges to your computer.

Type: Net User Administrator / active: yes

” Enter the” push you.

“Do not replace Yes ” and ” What ” disable the administrator account on the welcome screen.

Method 2 – from the management tool

Hold the Windows key “while holding down the R to specify the Windows file name to open the Run dialog box.”

” Lusrmgr.msc and” Enter , ” Enter the” push you.

” Users of the” open you .

Select ” Administrator ” .

If necessary , uncheck or check ” Account is disabled ” .

” OK the” select you.

Method 3 – from the registry

Hold the Windows key “while holding down the R to specify the Windows file name to open the Run dialog box.”

” Regedit and” Enter , ” Enter the” push you.

Move to the following location.

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
  • software
  • Microsoft
  • Windows NT
  • Current version
  • Winlogon
  • Special Accounts
  • UserList

On the right, select ” Right-click UserList Above ” and select ” New “> ” DWORD Value “.

“The value Administrator ” named you. When you are finished , ” Enter and press the” key.

Close Registry Editor and restart your computer.

Remove the ” Administrator ” value to turn it off so that it does not appear on the welcome screen.

Method 4 – Group Policy

Note: This does not work on the Home edition of Windows 10.

Hold the Windows key “while holding down the R to specify the Windows file name to open the Run dialog box.”

” Gpedit.msc and” Enter , ” Enter the” push you.

Move to the following location.

  • Local computer configuration
  • Windows settings
  • security settings
  • Local policy
  • Security options
  • Account: Administrator account status

Enable or disable the settings as needed.
