Apple Introduces iOS 15 at # WWDC21

Apple has started its WWDC 2021 with the annual update to its most popular operating system, the next version of the iPhone software will be iOS 15 and incorporates improvements in four approaches: stay connected, find focus, use intelligence and explore the world.

The most important novelty of iOS 15 are its new notifications , which have been redesigned with larger icons so that they are easier to read and it will also show you the image of the contact that is sending you the notification.

In addition, iOS 15 can now show you a summary of notifications that will be sent to the user at the time you want, grouping notifications from applications that are not necessarily so important, such as news or social networks. The notification summary will not include messaging applications.

IOS 15 notifications will also receive a new filter called Focus –Focus in Spanish–, which will allow you to customize which applications send notifications when you are doing different activities, for example if you are at the gym, working or playing, applications related to those activities will be the that may interrupt you. Focus will be able to sync between all your Apple devices .

The new operating system has also presented news in different applications.

The first novelties have been for FaceTime , a video calling application that from iOS 15 will be able to focus on the audio of the person who is speaking – silencing the environment -, it will have support for portrait mode, share screen in real time with SharePlay and also, the users of Android and Windows can join video calls through the web , to better compete with Zoom.

It should be noted that SharePlay will work with third-party applications through an API, and Apple has ensured that they are working with Disney +, Hulu, WiTok and HBO Max, among other services.

The Photos application can now recognize text from your images using AI, being able to directly copy the text of the images to your clipboard. The photos will now appear in the Spotlight search and they have also presented a new “ Memories ” section, which will show us what we were doing on that day in previous years. Nothing that we do not see in other services.

El Tiempo has also been redesigned, with new information and a design that is even more adapted to the weather conditions in your location.

Finally, the iMessage application will be able to recognize when you have Do Not Disturb mode activated, and it will notify the contacts who contact you that you have this function activated.
