Apple today released a major upgrade to Safari, Safari 15, for macOS Big Sur and macOS Catalina.

The release notes for Safari 15 are as follows.


Safari 15 offers faster performance, improved security, and the following new features:

• Tab groups allow you to store and organize multiple tabs. Tab groups are easily accessible from other devices
• Redesigned tabs have rounded corners, sharp borders and reflect web page colors
• “Compact” tab bar options allow you to screen You can view more web pages above
• HTTPS upgrade automatically switches from HTTP to more secure HTTPS if your website supports HTTPS

Safari 15 can be installed from “Software Update” in System Preferences. The release date of macOS Monterey with Safari 15 pre-installed is still undecided, but it is expected that it may be released in October in line with the announcement of new models of 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro.
