Qualcomm has just released all the secrets of the Snapdragon 888, the new premium Soc for mobiles that will surely triumph in 2021. According to company data, this processor improves the performance of its predecessor by 25% and is capable to consume 25% less energy, which will result in better use of the batteries and more days of autonomy.

 

The Snapdragon 888 comes with one Cortex-X1 core @ 2.84 GHz, three Cortex-a78 cores @ 2.40 GHz, and four 1.80 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. A 4MB Level 3 cache and 3MB System Cache are also included.

 

In the graphic part, we find an Adreno 660 GPU that improves on the previous Adreno 650 by 35% and consuming 20% ​​less energy. It is capable of reaching 144 FPS on screen. Thanks to the included Spectra 580, it is capable of capturing HDR10 photos in HEIF format. It can also record video in 120 FPS at 4K resolution.

 

How could it be otherwise, the Snapdragon 888 comes with a 5G modem that reaches 7.5 Gbps in the download and 3 Gbps in the data upload.

 

Among the rest of the new features, we can highlight that it includes Wifi-6G at a maximum speed of 3.6 Gbps. We also find Bluetooth 5.2 and a Hexagon 780 NPU. Now it also has compatibility with the new Quick Charge 5 fast-charging systems, capable of supporting chargers of more than 100W of power.
