We can always use online tools to convert Adobe PDFs to Word documents, but the same tools cannot be used to create a new PDF file. We must use a different tool to create a PDF file. The point is, generally, there are two simple problems we face while using any free tools:
This is where commercial tools come into play — they provide a unified interface and experience where you can convert, create, and edit or merge PDF files. This week we are giving away a popular, and a pretty expensive, commercial PDF tool for free.
PDF Converter Elite 3, usually sold at $99, is a Windows utility that converts, reads, creates and edits PDF files. One can easily convert PDF files to Microsoft Office format, add new pages to an existing PDF file, or even extract the text out of a document, change a PDF page to HTML or simply batch convert PDFs into other file formats.
Add any file of your choice – be it Word, Excel or a simple text file – and the program will convert the added file into PDF format. There’s also an option to secure and protect PDFs by setting up a new password. One can also hit the “create booklet” to create a booklet from any document.
It is possible to merge two or more PDF files, extract the text out of a PDF or even attach a file to the existing document. You can also insert new pages between a PDF file, delete them, rotate and resize pages or change the header and footer information.
The tabbed feature makes it easier to open multiple PDFs and switch between them any time. You can also convert text from scanned and image PDFs to Word, Excel and PowerPoint effortlessly.
Any original content creator would like to copyright their materials. The “Watermark Text” feature lets you add a text to the existing PDF document.
One can add watermarks to all the pages, or only on the current page. Of course, you can position the watermark, change the font and its size anytime. The button next to this is “Watermark Image” that helps you add images (or your company’s logo) to any PDF page.
Simply add as many files as you want, and convert them to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, HTML, RTF (Standard, Frames or Text) formats. If your everyday work requires you to convert PDF documents, this is probably the best feature of the PDF Converter Elite.
Note: After testing the software for a couple of hours, I can confidently say the PDF Converter Elite is a tool I will be using regularly. All the good features have been listed above, but there’s one flaw I’d like to point out: you cannot directly edit the text within a PDF file. We have to convert a file to Word, edit it and then export to PDF format back again.
If you visit the official PDFConverter.com website, you will realize the demo version of PDF Converter Elite is available for 15 days, and the full-version of this product is sold at $99.99. We are giving away genuine copies of this software to you for free.
