2) Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (2014-present)
Last Week Tonight is an American late-night talk program hosted by British comedian John Oliver. It’s produced by, and available on, HBO. However, the episodes’ main segments are available on YouTube for free.
Last Week Tonight is like Comedy’s Central’s The Daily Show in the sense that it makes a sarcastic examination of politics, news, and current events, but weekly. Therefore, it’s a news satire and political satire show, too.
Combined with social criticism and proper handling of international, relevant issues, the humor is quite exquisite and cunning. Likewise, John Oliver is one of the best English comedians out there today. So if you enjoy political satire, as well as finding out about the news of the week in a hilarious way, Last Week Tonight is for you.
3) Mortal Kombat: Legacy (2011-2013)
The Mortal Kombat series is one of the most iconic fighting video games out there. The reasons are its immense quality and distinctive violence. Of course, this has created a massive army of fans.
Such fame has led to several live-action adaptations of the saga. Among them, Mortal Kombat: Legacy.
Mortal Kombat: Legacy is a free adaption of the first Mortal Kombat game. The first season works as a prequel to said game, showing the backstories of several characters. The second one, on the other hand, covers the bloody tournament.
