Login on web with a single password (Open ID)

We had written about generating random password tools in our last post, these random passwords are very secure and strong but remembering these random passwords if you have registered to many sites is almost impossible. But majority people use the same password repeatedly and for this their is a web service which helps to login anywhere on the web with your OPEN ID password.Clickpass deals with all of the generation and submission of user’s OpenIDs.It is created in order to save the need to remember passwords. This means that a normal user never has to know anything to do with the URL’s that are flying to and fro within his browser.

You can  log into your Clickpass using your Google, Yahoo, Facebook or Microsoft Live accounts. All you need to do is choose which account you want to use and then connect it to your existing Clickpass.Creating an account, including name, email, address and even a profile photo takes only a second. All their servers are in secure data centers and protected behind both software and hardware firewalls. Here is how Clickpass works

  1. Your page loads
  2. Clickpass button loads pre-filled form containing user’s OpenID
  3. User clicks button
  4. OpenID is submitted from Clickpass directly to your website
  5. OpenID authentication process continues as normal

For now Clickpass supports login to some sites but in the coming weeks they will build the login list. They even have a wordpress plugin  which lets you log into your wordpress admin pages using Clickpass. Once the plugin is installed you will be able to log in to your admin panel from your Clickpass account page or from your wordpress login page without typing the password or username.
