If your everyday work involves dabbling in front of your Mac, then Focus Booster is a nifty little tool worth a keep. Focus Booster uses the Pomodoro technique, which is a very popular technique to avoid procrastination, and one which I personally use for writing on my Mac.
You can use this app to eliminate the distractions around and focus on one task at a time. Set the timer on, and get to work. This is a simple timer that eats away your procrastination.
So, if you have the self-control in you, and you fancy finishing your work as fast as you can, then this app can increase your productivity by leaps and bounds.
There are several ways to use this tool effectively. For example, a student can use Focus Booster to devote 25 minute for studying, and then take a quick 5 minute break.
Similarly, a blogger can set the timer on and keep himself busy researching for the topic he wants to write about. As a bonus tip, one can also use Wunderlist to manage his task effectively.
Apart from the sleek interface, I really like the ticking sound that blares out of this app. It also alerts me when the allotted time — 25 minutes, by default — is completed. I can set a customized countdown timer and extend the break time. If I had to rate this app, it’d be a fair 10/10.
Focus Booster works on Mac OS X Lion and also supports Leopard.
