In one of the most of the unique announcements in tech history, Archos has unveiled a plan to launch five new tablets this year. All of these devices will be equipped with Android 2.2 Froyo and will come out by the end of October. iPad killer or not, this is definitely good news if you are looking for some variety as far as tablets are concerned.

Here is sneak peek at these five new Tablets from Archos:

The Archos 28 is the smallest of the lot, with its 2.8 inch screen and 4GB storage capacity. It is powered by an 800MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor and also has an accelerometer. At $99.99 this Wi-Fi enabled mini tablet should be worth its price.

The Archos 32, is slightly more grown up with a 3.2 inch display and 8GB of storage. The camera on its back can record 720p video and you can even hook up this device with a TV. Just like the 28, it may be a bit small for web browsing, but nevertheless you can do it. The price has been fixed at $149.99.

Next in line is the Archos 43, a $199 tablet which is lined up as a successor to the Archos 5 tablet. A 1GHz ARM processor provides the juice and gaming with the accelerometer is pretty enjoyable too.

It also has the 720p capable camera at the back. That it will ship with Android 2.2 and its low price, should also give the Dell Streak something to think about.

Now for the two big boys of the bunch; starting with the Archos 70, which shares its form factor with the Archos 7 Home Tablet. The tablet is just 0.4 inches thick and has a capacitive screen, along with the accelerometer.

It does have a camera, but on the front, which will support video chats. It has USB and mini HDMI ports and is priced at $274.99.

The Archos 101 completes the quintet and this 10.1 inch tablet is easily the one you should be most excited about, because it should compete with the iPad. At 0.93 pounds it is feels lighter than the Apple tablet.

It has a 1024×600 screen resolution and is powered by a 1GHz processor. The kickstand at the back allows you to prop it up for some nice typing and viewing angles. Cost: $300.

While the Archos 28 and 32 will be available by the end of September, the remaining 3 will ship by the middle of October.
