Blogote.com update! Moved to Media Temple
It has been quite a few days of inactivity on blogote.com and blaming the hosting process is the last thing I was looking for.
If you are a regular visitor here then you must have noticed the blog was loading pretty darn slow, and it was throwing out an Internal Server Error. Surprisingly, well not really, I moved this blog on to a better server. Yep, we are on Media Temple!
What Happened?
I was not able to log in to the admin panel, and I believe a part of the problem was the heavy traffic, which the shared server couldn’t hold. I always wanted to move to a VPS or something better than Dreamhost — I am glad I did.
The whole migration process wouldn’t have been easier without the help of Amit and Keith. Keith Dsouza who hosted this blog for 6 months on Dreamhost fixed the Internal server error, and Amit bhawani took care of the complete blog migration. Thank you all! 
By the way, I committed a blunder by deleting misplacing the February month images somewhere and cannot find them in the FTP, so some of the images in the post will not be visible. I am still trying to find it as soon as possible! Some times all this is too fun!

Update 2012: I have moved Blogote to Knownhost, and it’s been almost 2 years now. The new VPS server is solid, and there were hardly any server down times!

@Raju – Thanks Raju, actually this is a Grid service and I am sure it is quite different from the VPS.
The features and the interface are pretty good , there are various options included in the panel but I don’t think I need to learn them all. So far things are going fine..

@Blogsdna – Yes, I moved to Media Temple as they have hosted some of the big blogs around. Though I have the starter plan I believe it will be strong enough to handle the traffic with no downtime! Only time will tell though..
